Yup. After a long while planning the launch of Stories in Sandstone is almost upon us.
In fact it’s tomorrow night (Thursday 30th May) at 8.00 pm at the Hotel Deux, Nottingham. For those who don’t know it the Hotel Deux is home to The Guitar Bar which is Nottingham’s most intimate live music venue. Hosting the best national and local talent it’s located just out of Nottingham’s city centre and if you like good music or avant garde events then it’s tailor made for you.
I think that if Michael Eavis decided he’d had enough of Glastonbury, sold Worthy Farm and bought a hotel then it would be like this.
Anyway, that’s where we’re holding the launch! And we have a great line up. To start we have invited Mel, the Centre Manager of the Nottingham Women’s Centre, to tell us about their work – all profits from the book are being donated to them you see.
Then kicking off the entertainment is poet and wordsmith Miggy Angel who will then invite some of the authors to read extracts from their stories. Following this we have the two Sherwood poets, Georgia Brown and Rachel Burnett, who will be performing some of their works and closing the evening will be a set by Nottingham’s one and only John Marriot which I can’t wait to watch.
So….. a brilliant evening ahead. Check in for photos in a few days!
